As we expand, we seek a dynamic individual ready to drive growth in the managed care space, taking ownership of outreach, relationship building, and sales execution.

Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager will take a hands-on role in driving TCARE’s outreach and sales strategy within key healthcare markets. Reporting to the EVP of Execution & Growth, this individual will focus on securing new client relationships with regional and national MCOs, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and other healthcare entities. The role requires a proactive, results-driven professional capable of leading direct outreach efforts, engaging key stakeholders, and securing sustainable partnerships.

This position is based in St. Louis, MO, with travel as needed to support client engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Execution and Outreach

  • Directly engage with potential clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings, following a consultative sales approach to uncover opportunities and set appointments.
  • Persistently pursue opportunities, leveraging TCARE’s EVP and other internal subject matter experts to finalize program designs and business cases.
  • Develop relationships with regional and national MCOs, including those serving populations such as Medicaid Managed Long-Term Services & Supports (MLTSS), Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), and Special Needs Plans (SNPs).

Market Strategy and Research

  • Collaborate with leadership to create a strategic approach for outreach to MCOs, ACOs, and state agencies.
  • Research and stay informed on healthcare market trends, including HCBS waivers, Family Support Waivers, and initiatives requiring caregiver support services.
  • Use tools like Copilot and CRM platforms to streamline research, track pipelines, and prioritize outreach efforts.

Relationship Development

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with decision-makers in healthcare organizations, state agencies, and government relations experts.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment and leverage existing networks to create opportunities.

Cross-Sector Business Growth

  • Contribute to new business development in innovative segments, including self-service programs like Odyssey.
  • Work alongside internal teams to develop marketing strategies, assist with registration as a waiver provider, and implement outreach programs for new opportunities without detracting from core priorities.

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Partner with TCARE’s EVP to align efforts with overall organizational strategy.
  • Engage with other leaders in product, client success, and clinical operations to integrate sales efforts into broader company goals.
  • Support mentorship and onboarding efforts for other team members to build a scalable business development function.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Mid-level experience in business development, sales, or client engagement, preferably in healthcare or managed care markets.
  • Proven ability to execute outreach strategies and close deals in complex, enterprise-level environments.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Ability to execute direct sales calls and strategic prospecting efforts independently.
  • Familiarity with tools such as CRM platforms, data management systems, and AI-assisted tools like Copilot.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a results-driven approach.

Attributes

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a bias toward action and execution.
  • Deeply collaborative with a team-first mindset and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Hunger to grow, learn, and develop expertise in managed care and healthcare markets.

Success Metrics

  • Growth in the pipeline of opportunities, measured by:
  • The number of discrete organizations engaged.
  • Weighted opportunity value added over specific periods.
  • Signed contracted revenue.
  • Contribution to sustainable growth initiatives, including those tied to scalable self-service programs.
