SteadyIQ is seeking a sharp, highly-motivated backend software engineering manager who is excited to play a major role in our product and engineering evolution. We are looking for a product-focused, results-oriented leader who thrives in a collaborative, team-focused culture. You will work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and your team to help define, implement, and ship significant increments to SteadyIQ’s mission-driven product offering.

As a Backend Engineering Manager, you will

• Hire, manage, mentor, and foster the growth of product-focused, results-oriented backend engineers
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design/UX stakeholders as well as your team to help define, design, scope, implement, and ship features and projects
• Oversee architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability
• Set expectations for development timelines and delivery of projects
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, well-tested technical solutions
• Lead from the front - be hands-on, dive in, and write code across multiple stacks with the team
• Help define, implement, and reinforce development best practices and processes
• Help define and execute SteadyIQ’s technical vision
• Be an Agile coach
• Embody the principles of servant leadership

Skills & Requirements

• Significant software development experience (7+ years preferred)
• 2-4 years of hands-on people management experience
• Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent
• Strong coding skills in C#/.Net (primary stack, .Net Core), Java, Node.js, or equivalent
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Experience with API development and microservice architectures
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases like MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases such as Dynamo and MongoDB
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis, Varnish, or Memcached
• Strong background working in the AWS ecosystem
• Experience with managed message broker services like SQS, Kafka and RabbitMQ
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Ability to work well in teams of all sizes with representatives from a diverse set of technical backgrounds

Preferred Skills

• Consumer and/or SaaS product development experience
• Experience with containerization technologies like docker and kubernetes
• Experience with indexing and search technologies like elasticsearch, SOLR, etc.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Total Compensation Package

• The base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $200,000.
• This position is eligible for equity.
