Growth Lead, Provider Pipeline
San Francisco, CA
Go-to-Market
In office
Full-time
The data telling you which health systems are leaving money on the table is public. Build the machine that turns it into meetings.
Why This Exists
A federal arbitration system called Independent Dispute Resolution, or IDR, now determines billions of dollars in healthcare payments each year. Providers win the vast majority of disputes, yet most eligible claims are never filed. The process is manual, fragmented, and resource-intensive, and most providers don't have the infrastructure to pursue what they're owed.
The No Surprises Act created the framework, and the market already exists. Today it runs on spreadsheets, consultants, and static playbooks. We're building the first intelligent system designed to operate inside it.
Here's the thing that makes our go-to-market unusual: CMS publishes who filed what. We can see exactly which health systems are contesting almost none of their eligible claims, and estimate what that costs them. Most companies have to guess who their best prospects are. We can calculate it.
Almost nobody is doing this work. This role is about building the machine that does.
Why This Is Hard (and Interesting)
Knowing who to target is only the first step. The harder problems are what to say, how to reach them, and how to earn a reply from someone who deletes vendor email for a living.
Our buyers are revenue cycle VPs and hospital CFOs. Risk-averse, regulated, and skeptical. Generic outbound bounces off them. What works is specific: their name, their numbers, their gap, and a credible reason to believe we can close it.
So the job is part analysis, part messaging, part systems. You'll need to be comfortable pulling data, forming a point of view about a market segment, writing something a CFO will actually read, and then building the tooling that makes it repeatable rather than artisanal.
You'll also be defining the category as you go. Most of the market doesn't yet have a name for what we do.
Who We Are
Recourse is being built in partnership with 25M Health, a healthtech venture firm. We have institutional backing, a shared platform team spanning engineering, strategy, design, and back-office, and early access to large provider systems.
We are actively filing disputes for real customers, including a large multi-facility health system and a litigation-finance partner with hundreds of millions in claim value. This is a funded, validated opportunity with real customers and real data.
We are a small, nimble team. We move quickly and we value clarity over theater. We want this to be the best work of your career. The stretch you look back on as the one where you shipped real things, with people who raised your game, on something that mattered.
We care about clear thinking, high ownership, intellectual honesty, and direct communication. We believe operations, product, and engineering should operate as one pod, not three functions. We want the machines to do machine work, and the humans to do their best work.
The Role
You'll own pipeline generation. You will:
- Own the number: qualified meetings booked and opportunities created
- Turn CMS public use file analysis into a repeatable targeting engine, not a one-off exercise
- Segment the market and decide who we go after first, second, and not at all
- Own messaging and positioning in service of pipeline. What we say, to whom, and why they should care
- Build and run the outbound motion end to end: sequences, campaigns, tooling, and the data underneath
- Work hand in glove with our Provider Partnerships Lead, who takes what you generate and closes it
- Build the content that supports the motion, from the analysis a prospect gets on first contact to the material that keeps a deal warm
- Test constantly. Channels, messages, segments, offers. Kill what doesn't work quickly
Who You Are
You've built an outbound motion from nothing. Not inherited one, not optimized one. Built one. You know what the first ninety days of that looks like.
You are data-native. You'd rather spend a day in a dataset finding the right hundred accounts than a week emailing the wrong thousand.
You write well. Not marketing-copy well. Clear, specific, and worth a busy person's attention.
You are AI-pilled. You've used AI tools to do research, analysis, and content work that would have taken a team. You have opinions about which ones are useful and which are hype. You stay current because the world is changing and you want to see the next shift before anyone else.
You have a bias to action. You don't default to no. Speed of iteration over polish of iteration. You start, you learn, you fix things in motion. Most decisions are reversible and do not need extensive study.
You are intellectually honest. You measure what you do and you're straight about what isn't working. You'd rather kill your own campaign than defend it.
You put the team first. You are reliable and fully invested. You take your vacations. You check on your teammates. You help build a culture where people do their best work because they are supported, not squeezed.
What You Bring
- 4+ years in growth, demand generation, or GTM at a B2B company, ideally healthcare or fintech
- You have personally built an outbound motion, including the targeting, the messaging, and the tooling
- Strong comfort with data. SQL is a plus, but at minimum you're dangerous in a spreadsheet and you pull your own numbers
- Hands-on fluency with modern GTM tooling and AI. You've used it to ship real work, not just tried the demos
- Clear written communication. Your copy has to earn a reply from someone who ignores most vendors
- Comfort being measured on pipeline rather than activity
- A preference for small teams and early-stage chaos over mature org charts
Strong plus, not required: selling into health systems, revenue cycle, or any regulated enterprise buyer. If you have it you'll ramp faster. If you don't, we'll teach you.
Sound judgment, commercial instinct, and ownership mindset are required. Grit matters more than pedigree.
Why This Role
Most growth roles are fighting for attention in a crowded market with a product that looks like four others. This one has an unfair advantage sitting in public data, a product with measurable ROI, and a category that hasn't been defined yet.
You'd also own the whole thing rather than a channel. Targeting, messaging, tooling, and the number. That's a rare amount of surface area.
If you want this to be the most memorable stretch of your career, where you shipped something real, with a team you respected, in a domain that actually matters, this is the seat. Please apply even if you don't fit 100% of these requirements. We would like to talk.
Equal Opportunity
Recourse is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Compensation
