Role Overview:
The Clinical Dietitian Lead – is a hybrid clinical and operational leader responsible for owning a Clinical POD (a care delivery team of Registered Dietitians, CDCES Diabetes Educators, and Health Coaches) and delivering high-quality care within FlyteHealth’s integrated model. This leader will actively treat patients while managing a multidisciplinary care team, including Registered Dietitians, CDCES Diabetes Educators, and Health Coaches. The role is focused on driving clinical excellence, team performance, and patient outcomes to prevent the progression of eCKM (Early Cardio-Kidney-Metabolic Conditions ).
Key Responsibilities:
POD Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of dietitians, CDCES diabetes educators, and health coaches
- Provide day-to-day oversight, coaching, and mentorship to ensure high-quality patient care
- Act as the primary liaison between leadership and the clinical nutrition/lifestyle team
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance check-ins, and ongoing feedback sessions
- Support onboarding and development of new clinicians
- Track reporting for clinical outcomes and patient engagement
- Meet with customers to deliver the results of enrolled members
Clinical Care & Patient Management
- Maintain an active patient panel and deliver direct care through telehealth
- Provide evidence-based counseling and treatment across:
- Weight management
- Prediabetes and diabetes
- Hypertension and hyperlipidemia
- Model best practices in patient engagement, behavior change, and clinical outcomes
- Support team members with complex cases and clinical decision-making
Clinical Operations & Performance
- Monitor team and POD performance using key clinical and operational metrics
- Drive accountability for:
- Patient outcomes (weight, A1c, BP, lipids)
- Visit adherence and engagement
- Care plan execution
- Identify and address performance gaps through coaching and workflow optimization
- Ensure consistent, efficient day-to-day POD operations
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential (CDR)
- Active state licensure (CDN/LDN), where applicable
- 4+ years of clinical experience in dietetics, including weight management and metabolic health
- 4+ years of patient counseling experience (obesity, diabetes, lipid management, or related)
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a growth organization
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and quality programs
- Experience providing care in an EMR
Preferred
- Experience managing multidisciplinary care teams
- Experience in telehealth or digital health environments
- Certification in health coaching (e.g., NBC-HWC, Wellcoaches)
- CDCES or CSOWM certification
